We scored!

Okay, I concede what we did in the grand scheme of things is certainly not up there like PK Subban's goal in OT giving the Habs a win over those very nasty Bruins, so suffice it to say we knew "we done good" when we opened the door to the apartment which is going to be our "home" in Berlin for the next week. The apartment is huge - just my bedroom is the size of most hotel rooms - and we have a big living room, an office area, a kitchen and dining area, a small balcony and, to Nawal's delight, an iron and an ironing board (what's that about?). All this costs less than even a medium-priced hotel room - about €85 each a night. Further, the location is perfect. If you know Berlin at all, we face west looking over Hackescher Markt and are very close to the Fernsehturm (TV tower) near Alexanderplatz.  One complaint: the shower is not up to those great German plumbing standards; one question: just what are we supposed to do with all those cushions on the sofa in the living room?

Oops!  Nawal just pointed out to me one big problem:  the noise from those trains running day and night about a block from here!  Guess I was so tired last night that I didn't hear them!  Hope we can adjust.
